Both new sdss and labels will feature pictograms, and workers must know what hazards these pictograms represent. Pictograms must be contained a red outer square, a white background, and a black hazard symbol. Reference material on the new hazard communication standards

Each pictogram features a black graphic on a white background, with a red border. Safety data sheets used to be known as material safety data sheets (msds), until osha’s hazard communication standard formally aligned with ghs in 2012. There are 9 standardized pictograms, each representing a different hazard.

The occupational safety and health administration’s (osha) hazard communication standard details how healthcare organizations should inform employees about any hazardous chemicals to which they may be exposed at work. A pictogram must be listed for each of the hazards. It contains hazard classifications, communication elements and the details of any other hazards which fall out of the scope of the eu hazardous substance classification system.

Will help your employees understand osha's revised hazcom standard including the proper labeling and safe handling of chemicals and how to access important information on safety data sheets. Identify a chemical's health, physical, and environmental hazards. The nine pictograms are pictured below.

So our next few toolbox talks will focus more on the specifics of how the new hazard warning systems work. Pictograms are standardized images which indicate what type of hazard a given chemical poses. Hazcom chemical labels safety training video kit $ 150.00.
